I'm building a x-mas project, a bookshelf/dollhouse. The roof and trim will be cherry and the shelves and sides will be painted pine. I have painted pine in the past with questionable results with a brush. I would like to have a nice smooth finish. I have a cheap spayer that has not been used as of yet and am hoping to get a decent finish with this. Any suggestions would be welcome as to how I can achieve the best finish.
Thanks,
Greg

You need to seal the pine with either shellac or sanding sealer. Then sand it down smooth. This will seal the pine and give you a much better surface finish. It will also seal the knots so the sap won't bleed through the paint. Then put on two coats of a good enamel paint.

milk paint. But use a low-speed electric blender to mix it and eliminate the clumps. If you think you'd like more info on something that's TOTALLY goof-proof, feel free to e-mail me. Howard
