What is SMC worth?

Here's an interesting website, somehow it comes up with a dollar value for your website. SMC is worth a little more than pocket change, according to it. Aaron may be wanting a raise after seeing this.

It appears that they have a search engine, and this website value link may be a way to encourage people to submit to their search engine, and maybe pay the $19.99 fee for a "premium" submission. The free "basic" submission requires you to add a link to them so they can't lose.

It must search engine rankings ... I have several sites, and the one that is the busiest and "most linked to" is $8,184. One of my least used sites, even though the domain has been around for quite a while, is worth $5. I put in some customer's sites, and I owe them a refund!

I read through the very brief FAQ on the site and it bases the value on the number of "backlinks", whatever they mean by that. This site has ~10,000 members. In comparison, the Ford truck forum where I originally found the link has 300,000+ members, but is only worth about 3 times what SMC is. However, there is much more advertising there, yearly subscriptions do buy you some features, and the guy who owns it runs it as a full-time business.
