Will there be a woodworking show this December at the New Jersey Expo Center at the Raritan Center? I can't seem to find anything on the web.

The Woodworking Show is coming to Somerset the weekend of Feb. 16-18.

More information can be found here (http://www.thewoodworkingshows.com/somerset).

The Somerset show sucked last year. Few big dealers, small crowd, same fringe vendors, China hand tools. I got through it in 45 minutes.

I think these small-size shows are dying due to the internet. You've got to go to the big regional shows to really see the best stuff and the best assortment. It's been years since I've seen any kind of CAD-CAM, automated tool, or production tool vendors at a show in NJ.

I ditto Mitch's comments. Show was very, very disappointing from my perspective.

The show I'm thinking about is offered by a different sponsor. I thought is was called Woodworks vs. Woodworking Shows.

I went to the December show in Raritan Center for the last two years. Many major tool reps were there (Dewalt, Bosch, Shopfox, Delta, MiniMax, Laguna, Hammer, etc.) There were lots of machine retailers, portable tool vendors and gizmo vendors. There were also plenty of demonstrations. The show was on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with plenty of patrons.

***Edit: I just found the event calendar for the NJ Expo Center and there was no listing in December on into the future. Oh well.

The closest the WoodWorks Show comes to NJ is York, PA. This weekend (http://www.woodworksevents.com/home_pa.shtml), in fact.

It will also be in West Springfield, MA in January, just a little farther away.

Yeah, I'm curious myself because I have been offered a weekend job in January in Atlantic City at an auto racing convention/expo and all expenses will be paid for myself and the wifey, along with our son and his fiance. January is usually when the woodworking shows come around our area here in Jersey.

Woodworks is only planning four shows this season... http://www.woodworksevents.com/

Unfortunately, I can't make the show in York this weekend...a friend let me know about it the other day, but I'm just plain booked.

There may be an "industrial" show in Edison, but I'm not sure if or when.

With the demise of the Ft Washington Convention Center (it's being turned into offices...) it leaves a little "hole" in the SE PA area relative to shows.

Not for nothin Jim.... but, you're all over the forum with 16,797 posts.

How do you get anything else done? Like woodworking?
