Here is an update on the shaker square table I am building. Some of you read the post here about how to put the drawer in.

Let me know what you think. Im still undecided on the width of the legs. They are 1.75 at the top, I think now I should have done 1.5. Oh well. Whatever design I come up with it will be copied one more time (need to make a pair for our bedroom).

Thanks for looking!

Sorry about the picture quality.

Very nice, Jason. Great progress!

Moser's original side stand design calls for 1 1/8" square stock for the legs on the side table. That's pretty "dainty", especially with the 2" tapered overhang of the top.

Here's a somewhat poor picture of one of the un-drawered ones I made for use as an end table. You can see how Moser tried to keep it very "light" on its feet. In fact, without the drawer, I think I should have made the apron a little narrower...IMHO

Looking good, Jason. Mine legs are 1.5 inches at the top, tapering to 3/4 at the bottom. I think they look a little heavy, so I am contemplating using 1+3/8 at the top of my next table, tapering to 11/16.

It doesn't seem like much of a difference, but I think it will look "lighter".

Jason, nice work so far. It looks like those legs have some figure that is really going to pop when you get some oil on them. Have fun with it. It's looking good so far.
