View Full Version : Church Pew for Lilliputians - (really a bookstand)

It dawned on me that I've posted lots of pictures of building a shop. Since I finished, I've been working on a boat, and that won't be done for awhile. So, since I'm also working on my Greek, and I was getting tired of proping a book up while I type, I made a little bookstand.

Most of the bookstand is walnut. The expensive looking tongue depresser (helps hold unruly pages) is mahogony and the pegs are just pieces of dowel. The pegs will be replaced with some other hardwood when I find some.

Not much, but it took half a day.

Excellent work John!!! The LOML says that she really likes that idea. Now you may have just given me yet ANOTHER "honey-do" to add to me list. :p ;)

Very nicely done John!!!!! Great idea.:D

Yep! Very nice work. That would make a nice gift for a reader (like LOML).

I'm glad it's a bookstand and not a church pew. Those pegs in the seat could get really uncomfortable after awhile.:D

Nice work!

Very nice, looks like one would fit in the shop to hold directions, plans, and whatever...thanks for the idea.

John, great idea. I like your solution to keeping the pages open as well. I have a book stand as well, but the pages always want to flip open so it dosen't work the best. I use a rail road tie to keep it where it needs to be.

Are you learning Greek for conversational purposes or theological? Many are the hours I've paced back and forth trying to get my Greek vocab down. Either way, enjoy your latest project. Learning a another language can be a chore - at least it always was for me.
