During my indoctrination into the Vortex last spring, I received a lot of pen blanks. Some of them were labeled for wood types.....most were not. My wife is very much in love with some of these woods. Any help in identifying the wood types would be greatly appreciated so I can get more pen blanks of similar type!

American slimline pen kits from Woodcraft....finished with dewaxed shellac and several coats of Deft........my 3-6th pens.....

My first thought is cocobolo for #s 1&2. #3 looks like mahogany to me. #4 I don't have a good guess for. At pen size, woods can really look different.

My vote is cocobolo for first two. And a definate "I dunno" for the next two.

Looks like cocobolo for the first, bocote or kingwood for the second, mahogany for the third and maybe something like honduras rosewood for the last... just guesses!!

I would say....
Cocobolo on the 1st two and last pen. Then I'd say cherry for the 3rd pen. Glad I could toss in my guess. :D
