As some of you know, I've made a few coat/backpack/lunchbox shelving units for my daughters school.

This year, sixteen important clients needed a little attention - my daughters 2nd grade class:)

I try to make each one of these different - I hope that's not against school policy:eek:

Here's the workflow and thanks for looking!

And now for the finished and installed photos......

The dividers are soft maple - and actually have some nice curl in places. Construction was glue and Kreg Screw - Finished with 5-7 coats of Minwax wipe-on Poly.

I guess I'll go on thru 6th grade with this process.......I keep getting recruited.

Good job Roy,
Since I was a kid, I love building useful projects with wood. It is even
better when you do it with a spirit of good will for others. I find it enhances the whole experience when I know and like who I am building
for...every effort to fuss the details and put the love in is inspired by them. The project becomes an extension of your good intention towards
them. I see that you 'get' this !
(sounds reminiscent of Mark Singer's SMC tagline...)

It is also telling that you resisted using sheetgoods and paint, instead going with spendy exotics. I am sure that the doing service for others is
gratifying enough, but I'll throw in that you can feel proud for the effort.

Good show,
Walt

ps What finish did you use for those little rascals?
:)

You beat me to the punch! I was asking about wood finish and you second
posted before I pressed submit.
Nice anticipation!
