I just bought two gallons each of Early American and Golden Oak stain. I have been using a "Critter" spray gun to apply the stain and it is quick and gives great results. That is until today. A quick call to MinWax and I have been told to not thin but just look for old product since they have to ship me the new low V.O.C. product now. The can has 210B on the lable next to the color now.

Have any of you run into this and how have you overcome the problem of the stain now being quite thick?

I am now using a 2" roller to apply and this is taking a long time. Not to even think about the time to dry now. At least the color is the same.....

Ed,

Did you not like the spray can version of the stain? I imagine it is more cost effective to buy the larger cans of stain, though. I'd be interested to hear if you find a good resolution. One day I might need to "graduate" from the spray to the can!
