Yep, looks like they bought the rights to have it re-badged and painted for their store.

Hello,

My local Rockler manager told me theat the lathe is made for them by Jet's parent group - WMH?, and that it is an exact dupolicate of the Jet 1014. I saw it when I was at the store last weekend, and it looked pretty good to me, but I did not get a chance to try it out.

Happy Turning,
Dan Heine

Also, the castings were pretty rough looking to me. Didn't like the access door for the belts. But for the price probably ok. To me it looks a lot like the PSI Turncrafter Pro models from Penn State Industries.

It's exactly like the PSI. I would imagine that this lathe, the PSI are both made from the same castings that the Jet is made from. They are exactly the same down to the on off switches etc.

Thanks Guys,

I was thinking of this for a pen/bottle stopper/tops dedicated lathe. Missing the 500 rpm speed going to be that big of a deal on really small things? I know I would like slower than 500 on my Jet 1236.

I believe it has a half horsepower motor. That's pitiful...

Myron, most of the mini-midi's are 1/2 HP. I have the PSI.. same lathe except low speed is 500. Not pitiful and not a dog . Some minis have even smaller motors than that....
