Hi Everybody,

I've got a bunch of pens to turn for an upcoming show. I managed to turn a couple today. Here's a group photo of four Junior Gentleman's Pens.

The top one is the Decora one I showed the other day. The next one is a purple swirled plastic. The third one is interesting - it's Macadamia wood. The fourth one is Lychee. Both of the woods are stabilized from Bill Baumbeck. Here's a shot of the Macadamia one:

And here's a close-up of the grain pattern:

I also managed to put together one snap top fountain pen. This one is made from brown dyed spalt maple. Here's some pictures:

I had another really nice snap pen turned from some stabilized afzelia burl, but broke it during assembly. Don't worry, I'll rescue it, just haven't decided how yet.

I hope you enjoyed looking. And remember, penturning isn't just for beginners!

Scott, as ususal, those are some famtastic looking pens! I think I'll order some of those types of kits and try to put some together. Keep up the good work. The photos really are an inspiration to us newbie pen urners who aspire to do better. I really like the different materials, especially the macadamia.

Those pens look great Scott! I really like the first two, the black and red swirl and the blue and pink one. You did great work as always :)

Scott, I really like the detail shot of the Macadamia wood...that stuff is beautiful. I wonder if it's available "flat" as it would make for very nice inlay or panels on small projects, such as lidded boxes.

Thanks Everybody!

Turning pens is a kick in the pants! And respect for what we do is coming up in the world! I just heard that there will be a special section for pens in the instant gallery at the next AAW Symposium!

Hi Jim,

I would suspect so. Try calling Bill Baumbeck - he may have some thin pieces hanging around. Arizonasilhouette.com
