Corel experts.. How do I do this?

I would like to take a directory full of files and do the following to each file.

Open
Select everything and change to black
Select everything and make .028 thickness (maybe a little thicker)
"file" "export for Office" and save the resulting .png file to another directory.


I want to be able to print out the designs I have in the directory without making everything and then taking pictures. If you have a better or slicker way to do this, please let me know.

On a per-file basis, it looks like it would be pretty easy to do as a VBA script/program...there's a couple examples of how to scan a drawing's objects and modify them selectively in the Corel VBA tutorial.

Doing the 'save-as' might be a bit trickier, but it's still just invoking standard Corel commands, so it should be doable.

What I don't know offhand is whether there are commands/functions/widgets to scan a directory for files in that VBA object model. There should be, but worst case, you'll end up opening each file and executing your script on it.

(Somebody should be along shortly to tell me there are some "batch-mode" commands for Corel that I don't know about that makes this trivial.:p )

I fall into the group that does not look in other places on the Internet because everything is here at SawMill Creek.

I drink from but one fountain but will now tast the water at the other V-bulletin board site.

I am not a programmer and no time to learn to be one right now, but in January I will have time so I will look into the corel programming stuff later.

Are you doing this to create a set of thumbnail type previes of your designs? If so, you might consider "Thumbs Plus". I have an old version (4.5 from 2001) and it still creates thumbnails of all the X3 cdr files I have made, as well as all the graphics and photos I used. You can set the size of the thumbnails, so you can adjust how many fit on the screen or on a sheet of paper. It thickens the lines in the cdr files so they can be seen in the thumbnails.

A very simple solution at a reasonable price. I've been using it for years to keep track of all my photos and drawings in various formats. This old version doesn't handle the latest Adobe Illustrator files, but handles an amazing number of other ones. I probably should upgrade, but this old one works so well I haven't bothered.

I bought Thumbs Plus years ago and am not quite sure why I am not still using it. I'll have another look.

I just downloaded the free veiwer/converter and will give that a try too.

Yes, I am trying to take my Corel designs and create a small catalog of designs.

I don't see how to add .cdr files to the types it knows how to open. What am I missing here?

It will view all cdr files without you adding anything , just run it.

I downloaded both softwares. however, for romcat, i cannot find the path to a network drive. we store all our files on a main server in the Local area network. No files are stored in the local work stations.
