I finally finished the cabinet I'd been working on for weeks. My first one, as I mentioned elsewhere, but definitely not my last! It came out much better than I'd thought it might, and with a neighbor's help I was able to lift it into its new home on the half-wall between my kitchen and dining room. The doors face the dining room, and the bottom shelf of it I used to hold all the appliances formerly strewn about my kitchen counter, giving me much more space to work! (mixer, food processors, crock pot, etc) I'm really excited about how much nicer this makes the place look and how much more organized it helps me to be!
Here are before pictures of the area. Quite a mess.

And here are the after pictures of the same spot. A big chunk of clutter gone, and nice new oak cabinet in its place. :)

I plan to build two more cabinet units to sit to the right of this one, the bottom section open for the radio and the microwave, with closed cabinets above.
If you look a the kitchen cam (which is new this weekend) you can see the big empty spot that used to hold all the appliances. :) We have a new webcam page that has all our cams in one spot, including the woodshop cam.
