I picked up about 400lbs. of real old elm.How does it turn and is it worth the work to make bowl blanks of it?

I have to say you got a gold mine. I really like how elm turns. I use the DNA method when rough turning. Also it is a beautiful wood has shows a lot of grain. The url below is one I did. I really like turning Elm. It does have tendency to move a little when drying.

Mel at the worst if you cut it up into blanks, at least you would have quite a bit of practice wood. You never know someone that doesn't have access to Elm might also be interested in an exchange. Nothing to loose but some time and a bit of gas.
