Here's a picture of what I did today:

49108

These are all 7mm twists,

Left to right:

Honduran Rosewood
Cocobolo
Bloodwood
Wenge
Tulipwood

Cocobolo again

There are matching pencils coming for the first five, but the Tulipwood blank blew out and I have to get another one prepared.

The cocobolo on the right is a single, and I really liked the coloring and grain pattern on this one.

Comments?

What "spare time?" I work a 40-hour job for a lawyer (sole practitioner, so I do everything), run a laser business from home, and turn out these pens for sale/gifts.

I want back through the turner's forum today looking at some of the gorgeous bowls and things that have been posted, and I'm envious on the one hand and anxious on the other--I want to do that too! Maybe someday.

They're all nice, Nancy but, I especially like the last Cocobolo one. Looks like you flared it out just a bit, which I think gives it a bit more character and gives you more wood to see. Nice job! :)

Nancy,
I will give you a warning... don't be in a great hurry in making those bowls, that's just a start of the great sucking sound that will pull you in even further. :) Great pens
