Is Minimax the only one who offers a 14" jointer/Planer?

Not that I know of. Knapp has a 12" and 16" combo. robland has a 12". But you probably knew that.

But at some point the combo units seem to get pretty insane. I mean, the knapp 16" combo is $10,000. And while it's undoubtedly high quality, you still have to swich modes. Seeing as a Powermatic industrial 16" jointer plus a 20" planer is "only" $8000, one has to be pretty tight on space to justify the combo--don't you?

BTW, I happen to have seen a robland 12" combo unit in boston craiglist recently. Apparently it's almost unused and asking $1000. You might take a look if you could live with a 12"; perhaps they'll ship.

To the best of my knowledge, MM is the only 14" J/P sold in the US. Not sure about Europe.

Hammer has 12" and 16"
Felder has 12", 16" and 20"
Robland is 12"
Knapp is 12" and 16"
Rojek is 12" and 16"

I have the MM FS35. If you have questions feel free to ask me offline.

I don't recall seeing another in that particular configuration...which by the way, is 350mm...13.79 inches.

I own the MM FS350 which was superceeded by the MM FS35 Smart that Matthew has. I'm very glad I bought it, too...does great work and the Tersa knives are a pleasure as compared to the knives on my previous jointer and planer solutions. I do have a review on my web site...feature-wise, the two machines are similar. The major differences are how the beds flip up (flat on mine/angled on the new machine) and the location of attachment for the optional (and recommended!) slot mortiser. (on the back of my machine/on the front of the new machine)
