...that sounds kind of funny if you say it fast. Anyway, here is one. Danish oil (natural) and Beall buff. Comments welcome.

Excellent work Mark. Nice curve and great finish. I like the floating bead rim a lot. You could have repeated that in the foot as well but it's great as it stands.

I agree with the others - super detail - especially on the rim. Nice work!

I like this one. A lot!

And well done on the rim, Mark. I am totally clueless when it comes to rims.

Nice! I, too, like the rim bead, something that my bowls to this point have been missing. Got some apple that just came out of the DNA vat and may try some different rim treatments on. Hope you don't mind the copying:p .

Very nice! How did it turn?
Ted, I was very pleased with the way it turned. It is quite hard compared to other species I've turned so far. I had zero catches and minimal tearout. What little tearout there was was easily corrected with shear scraping and with the infamous "80 grit gouge.":D :p

BTW I sanded this bowl (and the Padauk in my other thread) to 600. I still have a little bit of cloudiness; I think with the next one I'm going up to 1000 or even 1200.

Thanks all for the kind words.

Very nice job, Mark. Love the shape, rim, foot, everything. A simple yet elegant shape that allows the wood to do the talking is always in good taste.

And yeah, I'm gonna copy it, too...............
