Which lens do you prefer to use on 3/8" acrylic 2.0",or 4.0". This question is based on the premise that a 2.0" lens has a smaller spots size and higher beam density than a 4.0" so it should cut faster. In most cases I would agree with that statement but beam divergence and depth of field also play into the equation. Has anyone tried using different focal length lenses on the same material and compared the speed.

Thanks

I use a 2" for everything , I have a 100W laser and it cuts thru 1" acrylic like butter. I set my speed at 1.8% - 2.0 % and 100% power.

Thinner material cut faster.

Good luck

I think Rodney Gold pointed out that acrylic acts somewhat as a waveguide, do depth of field for a 2" lens isn't a big issue in acrylic.
