I'm going to make a segmented walnut/padouk bracelet, and I was wondering if it might be a good idea to use something like epoxy instead of regular woodglue considering the extra stress it may be under. I made one already using titebond and it's held together, but it has yet to be worn and prove its durability.

Malcolm Tibbetts says that epoxy is too rigid and that can make it actually weaker than regular wood glue. Wood moves and epoxy does not, by comparison. The PVA glues have some "give" that allows them to move with the wood and maintain a strong joint. He also says that epoxy will dull your tools rapidly on a segmented turning and that can lead to a bit of chipping at the joints.

I will never use epoxy on a piece that is to be turned. DAMHIKT.:(
