this one is birch cut down last year by co-worker....chuck sat in gararge till she heard i started turning and now have whole tree from this year, ( stump had over 120 rings, unfortunaly cut last month and she just told me about it last week). Some nice fire in parts of the base but the checking made this piece a challenge as it started out 6 in dia x 6 in tall, first coat of tung then carnuba and polished on the lathe with white 3m pad.
