Opinion on McFeely's Hardware ?????

I am considering placing an order from McFeelys Hardware. I want to hear any rants / raves / compliments / complaints ... whatever, that you may have and are willing to share. I should say I'm not interested in starting a name calling thread but rather an informative one for all interested parties.

If you have something that you feel I need to know and it is 'questionable' as to whether you should post it up here, please PM me with that info.

I have purchased from McFeely's several times. They have good proiducts and good customer service. If they happen to be out of stock on an item, they send it later at no additional charge.

I place an order a couple of times per year and it is usually for a couple hundred dollars or so worth of stuff. I like to keep a good stock of fasteners in the shop.

A good place for a decent range of specialty fasteners. Never a problem. I have never hand to send anything back or get engaged with CS after the sale. I don't recall "backorders" or any of that nonsense that is all too common elsewhere. Their stuff is good quality, prices are market-rate. I would rate them as excellent among mail order WW-oriented firms.

Wow Roger, thats a lot of fasteners! Thank you for your opinion, I think I'll go and "mash" that 'proceed to checkout' button. Some fasteners and some Festool stuff.

I've only had one experience with them. I needed a small order of specialty deck screws for some composite lumber, that I was using for a special project. Anyway, they were out of stock on the smaller quantity packaging and only had larger quantity containers.

The sales person said they would break open one of those boxes and send the amount I needed. Long story short, I never received the order and when I called to ask about the shipment the salesperson couldn't explain what happened. I canceled the order and found the screws at another company in the quantity I needed.

Just an update. Placed the order, received the order (very quickly), everythings fine (as in everything was shipped and packaged well) and price was as promised. McFeely's appears to be a very good place to shop. This won't be my last order, thats for sure.
