I found the V-belt Drive speed guide :D

Some time ago there was a string about changing the cuter head speed on a jointer and there were several issues about which combinatin of pully size to use to achieve the right speed. Well, I came across the chart today and tought I'd put it on here for future use.

Driven speed (your tool)

is the Motor sheave diameter divided by the driven sheave diameter

multiplied by the motor speed.

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the formula. If you don't want to do the math there is a calculator on old woodwowring machines site that does it for you.

Hi Jerry,

I have a whole page of combinations of sheaves and the resulting speed changes of the driven sheave but there are just too many to write out. I can't locate any charts on the web but I'm sure any Granger catalog has the list in the pully section.

I'm just happy I came across it - it's agrivating to know youhave something and can't put your finger on it. It was not in my shop where it should be - in my library ....
