I have no idea what kind of wood this is it was given to me about 10 years ago it is reddish with tinges of purple & yellow.

Nice job there Bart. Hard to say what kind of wood it is, but it sure made a pretty pen and pencil set. Kind of looks like some dark cocobolo. Was it kind of oily? Keep'em coming.

I agree with the cocobolo guess.

Looking good!

I would guess that it is a member of the rosewood family, probably cocobolo.

Nice Bart! I love that wood! I've used that kit in the past but always thrown that rubber grip thing away to show more wood.Very versatile kit. Keep them coming!:D

I guess it qualifies as Dunnowood then!:D Whatever it is, it sure is good. Great job!

Looks like cocobolo to me, too. I visualize them without the rubbers and think them more attractive, but they're nice the way they are. Keep it up.

If you want to know if it is cocobolo or not, send a piece to Bill Boehme and if it gives him a reaction and puts him in the bed for a couple weeks, you know it is cocobolo. Just kidding. Harvey M. Taylor.
