In the house we are restoring, we will place an antique claw foot tub in one of the bathrooms. This tub's porcelain (inside) and outside coating are not in the best of shape. We are thinking about having both inside and outside powder coated. Anyone ever done this? Seen one done this way? Any advise? Thanks,
Harold Blair

I've owned a powder coating business for 14 years and I can tell ya that powder coating is not the way to go for the inside "working" part of the tub, it will not hold up to the wear and tear and scrubbing that will go on. It will be fine for the outside however.

My friends just had a clawfoot tub re-enamaled for their bathroom. It cost more than the new one siting in the show room. However the one they restored was longer and comfortably fit the fairly tall husband. The place that did it is in Rochester or Monaca, PA. I can get you more info if you want it.
