Sofa Table Finished

Got the finish put on it yesterday and today. Sprayed it with 3 coats of 1# cut of shellac. Wet sanded with 400 grit, then sprayed it tonight with about 4 coats of Deft laquer.

Hopefully, with the finish on it, maybe the top will distract people from lookin too closely at the legs.

Hey, Guy, that "Finish" is really a knockout and just draws your eyes to that top and it's beautiful grain and inlays. I will also say that with the finish on it, the braces and legs things I mentioned in your other thread somehow look more in proportion as well. Great job. Incidentally, I think that inlay down the middle really does a lot for the overall look, and I think that it is nicer than if you had gotten a "Perfect" grain match on the bookmatch and not used the walnut inlay strip. Like you said, sometimes you have to make changes and they work out, and sometimes they don't, but this one really worked out well.

The table looks really good, especially the top. We're our own worst critic, but know that I didn't notice the legs until you pointed them out. I don't thing they look bad, so if you don't say something, nobody else will notice.

One bit of advice, though. Don't let one of your puppies sit on the table. :-)
