I'm originally from Huntsville, AL. I used to buy red and white oak from many of the local mills all the time. If you are ever out this way, I can hook you up on some white oak, kiln dried for $1.45 PBFT. I have a wood supplier about 45 minutes from me that mainly caters to cabinet shops, but I still have permission to buy wood from him to this date. :D
