Jim, that looks great. Fact is a rocking horse is my next project for my Grandson. Did you build it from a plan, and if so which one.

Bob: I took a photo off the internet and made a plywood template and started from there. First I laid out the hollw body and just moved on from there. It is a bit heavy, it takes two men to move it around.

That's a mighty fine looking "Steed" there, Jim, and Granny looks like she's mighty pleased with Her Ride. (She may not want to give it up):D

Jim,
that's one primo looking rocking horse. That will be handed down from generation to generation....

Jim, so the body is hollow. That makes sense. Could you share the dimensions you came up with i.e.
Floor to saddle
length of rocker
Floor to top of head
Etc.

Thanks

Bob

Bob:

From the boards across the rockers to the saddle height is 28"

Length from chest to tail 29"

Length from nose to tail 38"

Floor to top of ears 51"

Body thickness 10"

Rocker length 77"

Rockers 23" apart

Main portion of rocker 1 1/2" x 4"

It kind of got away from me on size, I think by the time a kid is big enough to ride this he would rather have a Harley. Next one will be smaller.
