Hi all,
Question, Does anybody know whether or not plastic poker chips with a slug in the middle are pvc based? Has anyone engraved on them? Just need to put a logo on them, both sides.
Thanks,

Greg,
I wouldn't know that, but with other similar items I find that it varies by manufacturer. The only way to tell for sure is to look for their website and search for the MSDS or e-mail them and ask.

Joe and Mike,
Thanks for your input. I tried to engrave this afternoon. They seem to melt and roll up a little on the edge of the engraving. Tried 20 power and 50 speed. At 10 power not enough to get through top layer. May try 15 power later. I think they will just melt away. As far as manufacture goes, I don't know who it is. It guess I should ask customer.
Thanks again,

They are probably Polystyrene or ABS. Doesn't engrave well at all.

I'd guess polystyrene. I have been able to engrave ABS without rolled edges, it just has a sort of muddy look to it.

I looked at these for a while and you can get them in clay. I haven't tried it but they should work alright. The professional chips are clay.
