I followed my usual morning routine by making a pot of coffee, turning on MSNBC ( I ignore the local channels because they suck) to get the latest World news. Then I go in my office, turn on the computer, check my mail, respond if necessary. I then log on to Saw Mill Creek, check new posts, go over to Badger Pond and Wood Central doing the same thing and return to SM.

So, on my way to the kitchen for my 3rd cup of coffee, I grab my remote and switch from Direct TV to a local channel and WOW we have had an ice event over night. Schools, and businesses in the area are either closed or delayed.
I need to at least learn to look out the window in the morning -- DARN, we could have had a nuclear attack and this dumb hermit wouldn't know it.

Ignorance is bliss? I think sometimes I'm happiest when I don't have a clue whats happening outside my window, and even more so, in the rest of the world!

We have snow here and all the schools are closed. I work from a home office, my shop is in the attached heated garage, got plenty of food, the power is on so I can run my tools, so let it snow!

We're iced up pretty well here, Dallas don't do ice well.

I called my office, one of our Customer Service Reps answered (the one from Nebraska). She said the "not coming in" list was getting pretty long. I asked her who was there. "Me", she said. ;)

Looks like more of the same tomorrow. Sure wish I had a heated shop.

Yea - the problem w/ some of the 'high-tech' jobs are you can log in and work from home! Works great on the non-snow days. Can be lazy taking a shower, don't have to fight traffic - you can wait til it's done before driving in, etc. But 'snow days' means you can also work at home w/out a problem... :( It's so hard not to turn on the heat in the garage and take a LONG lunch...still thinking about it...

I have never and will never be embrassed to be a resident of N. Alabama. I have lived in many places in this country (14 states), and around the world (5 countries). After retiring I had my choice of where to live and here I am, and #*~%# proud to be here. There are many reasons why this is a good place to live (way too many to list here)..

Didn't mean to get you riled......:D i was born and raised in hville and i've lived in rogersville for the last 12 yrs, and i love north alabama as well. but do these weather guys not crack you up everynow and then? speaking from a natives stand point we are more than proud to have you in NA.............by the way, have fun at in atlanta! i have to work AGAIN this year. maybe i can keep up with next years show and i can actually ask off of work.
