As some of you know, I built a jewelry box for our Church Auction last Sunday. See this thread http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?p=418919#post418919 At the last minute, I also built a second box of curly maple and walnut and constructed removable trays for both. The box constructed at the last minute brought $175.00 and the original box went for $375.00.

Both were purchased by the same individual and I have 2 other requests to build custom boxes for those who attended the event. It is really a great feeling to know that these boxes helped our Parish Community.

Not a bad feeling to know that your work quality is good enough to sell either, I bet...:)

Some day....I hope...:)

Al: These were my 3rd and 4th woodworking projects. I had hoped for $150 apiece, but for some reason they went for more :) It has encouraged me to continue my woodworking projects. Boxes, yes, but many other ideas in my mind. Would love to find a good cabinet making class somewhere near Central Texas.

That is great Mike. With the workmanship I saw in the one you posted I think someone got a bargain.

Great result on many accounts. Good work, nice to feel like people like yoiur work, and good to give to charity. Way to go.
