Hi all,

I want to thank everyone that gave me advice on my first HF. I took all of it into consideration for this piece and I believe the form turned out much better than my first because of it. Thanks again! I will definitely appreciate any advice on this one that may help me with #3!

It's about 3 1/2" tall and 3" wide. It's finished with 3 coats of danish oil and 1 coat of poly.

That's great Don. That's the size of HF's I would like to do on my mini. What hollowing tools are you using?

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Corey:
Don't laugh, but I'm just using a regular 1/2" round nose scraper from the Harbor Freight set for hollowing. It's certainly not the right tool for the job, but it works fine taking very light passes. I did just buy a Sorby Hollowmaster that I'm using now on a much larger hollow form. I like it so far.

Very nice job, Don. Good continuous curve on the form. Keep up the great work! And there is no harm in doing the smaller pieces for awhile (or forever). They take less time and let you train your eye for what works before you cut into that major-big-bucks hunk of burl for a biggun'...not to mention folks really like to get them as gifts or buy them.
