View Full Version : A Couple of Maple Bowls

A couple of simple bowls. I was trying a new finish on the second one. The first one is just regular danish oil. The second was found on WC in Russ' Corner. The recipe follows:

2 parts Mineral Spirits
1 part Boiled Linseed Oil
1/4 part Varnish

I've got a little over 2 1/2 gallons of the stuff and dunk the bowl after final sanding into the mix. I let it soak then it drip dries over the bucket. After drying I buff the bowl using tripoli, white diamond, and carnauba.

I'm pleased with the first result which is the darker of the two pieces below.

Raymond those bowls are nice. Simple. I like the finish on both. Nice job.

Very nice Raymond. I really like to looks of the larger bowl. Looks like that new finish does a nice job. Congrats. :cool:
