Hi.

Should there be gutters on a flat roof or not? Last year, we had a new flat roof installed , insulated the attic as best the insulation contractor could.

This was the picture before the insulation was installed .

Now, the insulation was installed AFTER the snow was gone, so I don't know what it will be like in terms of ice on the gutters of the flat roof for this winter.

Should the gutters be taken off the flat roof part of the house, just to be safe?

 I dunno. But it looks like Mother Nature is going to do the job for you.

Plenty of ventilation?
Insulation not touching the roof?
Plenty of insulation:confused: .
Gutters with limitations of the above will cause ice dams but they also direct water away from you foundation and keep water from damaging your siding.

I'd say before you remove your gutters see if the new insullation has worked it's magic.

Have a roofers # close bye just incase you need a quick fix this winter.
