My question is what kits are the best in terms of writing, espeically for fountain pens. I haven't turned any pens, but I might in the future. The thing is, I'm a snob about my pens. I like them to write well, that is smoothly and effortlessly.

For fountain pens, can you get fine or extra fine nibs that aren't scratchy when you write? Any pen nuts out there?

I realize for ballpoints, you can get a refill that is nicer depending on the style of the pen, but for fountain pens, the nib is everything. Well, ink is important too. I like Private Reserve brand.

Thanks for any tips.

P.S. I'm sorry if this has been asked before. It's hard to search for "Best Pen Kits" when Best and Pen are refused as being too short or too common.

You can buy replacement gold nib for FP also ;)...but they are not cheap (about $100.00 each)

But for out of the box kits, I like those from CSUSA and Berea high end kits
