Can anyone tell me anything about a 24" 4-wheel DU-ER BS from the 80's....good and bad? Value (good condition w/new 3/4hp motor), known issues, etc.

TIA...

OWWM has a little (very little) information on it.

I'd be pretty leery of any handyman machine with more than 2 wheels. It limits what bands that you can run and it puts a lot of wear on them.

Value? I'd say 50 bucks or so if it runs and you want the whole machine. I wouldn't buy it unless I needed the motor for some other machine

Thanks Pete - I don't need the BS, nor do I want to use it, but I was offered a good deal on a lathe and the DU-ER BS package, and was trying to figure out what to do with that monstrosity of a BS.

Well, I wouldn't call it a monstrosity. For a hobbyist with limited space, it might be just the ticket. Buy the package, advertise the BS in the paper for $35, and I'd think you'll find a taker.

It's a 12" Craftsman with a 1hp motor. Both pieces for $100, but I don't have room for either!
