No, of course not Christmas 2006, 2005. Her present from 2004 is still just dimensioned parts in some dark corner of the garag.., err, shop still...
Mom said that she had a water dispenser that she wanted a stand for so you could get a glass underneath the spigot. She likes the arts and crafts style so this is what I came up with.

The material was left over S3S walnut from the crib my brother and I built for my first child. All additional work for this project was done with hand tools (#5, cheap new Stanely miter box saw, file, Grandpa's Stanely bevel, brace and bit, Disston rip saw, and chisel). The cross pieces are all mortised into the verticals. The joints aren't the best, but it was good practice.

Finish is a coat of BLO followed by paste wax. There are a few blemishes, but overall I'm pleased with the outcome.
