Gun Stock

This is a Pink Flame wood gun stock for my wifes 410. I just posted this in response to a question for Bruce Shiverdecker as I couldnt send a photo on the Private mail .

Very attractive. Looks hand shaped. You got the grain running correctly with the small wrist for strength although that wouldn't be a big issue with a .410. What are the characteristics of pink flame? heavy? hard? ???

Frank: The pink flame is a fairly soft wood about like oak. Very strong but a real beast to dry slow enough to keep it from cracking. We boil this wood for at least 8 hours and that makes it much easier to control.
