Anyone have any advice on using the Abralon pads by hand only. The surface will
be finished with sevrral coats of thinned soya based poly.

What kind of results can I expected ? I have been wantting to try then out

If you want to have the "best time" in rubbing out a varnish finish...use an alkyd or phenolic based varnish, rather than a polyurethane based varnish. Poly is designed to RESIST abrasion...which is what you do when you rub out the finish. You can do it, but it requires more work. Pratt and Lambert #38, which is a soya oil formulated alkyd varnish will be a nice option.

I do not have experience with the Abralon pads, so others will have to comment.
