I recently picked up a few planes and i have finally gotten around to taking them apart and started cleaning them up. I found that the #4 I purchased is missing the bolt that holds the blade to the cap iron. Can someone direct me to where I can purchase one or does anyone have an extra they could part with?

Much thanks!

Brent,

Stanley still sells parts for its Bailey planes. You can order directly from them.
The web site is: http://stores.stanleytools.com/

Hank,

Check with Sandy Moss. I recently got a cap iron from him for a #5. Great price, 3 bucks with shipping!

Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about Stanley selling parts. I will check with both of them though.

Highland Hardware also sells parts for bench planes and some others. I've used them quite a lot.Their service is good.

Brent,
I've got one or two laying around here somewhere. PM or email me an address to send it to and I'll try to get it out in the next day or so.
