I finially finished up this monster a couple of weeks ago.
Solid Soft Maple construction. The basic cabinet is all 1" thick material (yes, it's heavy). The doors are curly Soft Maple with a little spalt & ambrosia.
Overall size is 40" wide x 80" tall x 18" deep.
Sorry for the not-so-great pics. They really don't show the curly grain in the doors very well.

Hey Ed:

That's a "big'un". Looks like you had your share of gluing also.

With all the shelves and compartments (pic #2), what is the intended function of the piece?????

My next question, without knowing the intended function, is the base, that bottom rail or am I seeing disks to act of a foot on top of the dollie???

That's good hard persistant work there........NICE!!!!!

Neil,
The cabinet is just for general storage, my house is only 900sq/ft, not a lot of closet space.
You are seeing the leg of the dolly in the pic. The crossbars of the dolly are raised up so the dolly is contacting the lower shelf of the cabinet. This made finishing easier.
The cabinet sits directly on the floor, no openings for the cat to knock it's toys under.
