Some wonderful curl in that bowl Garry, beautiful. Great story too. If everyone could see something beautiful emerge from an old cracked, weathered chunk of wood firsthand, the world would be full of woodturners.:cool:

That's some pretty startling curl Garry. So, did you give it to the radio station?

I m going to take it in next week to them. I wanted to show it off a little before hand.

There's a lot going on with that grain. Great job Gary! It's interesting to realize how there can be little gems like that lying on the side of the road that nobody knows about, until one of us demented types:D drives by and lays claim to it! I know the pictures can't do it justice. Way to go!

Did that but have not had the time to get it. The pieces are so big it takes a machine to load it up. I tried to split a couple of the pieces but the curl keeps the pieces from spliting. Its like the grain is braded together.
Next time I go I will take some kind of a bar to stand the pieces on the side and a chainsaw.
