Well here is tonights fun. Quarter sawn Maple.

I won't show you the pencil I tried to turn last night & tonight even cutting the blank to remove the bottom where the comfort rubber goes I split the part I wanted to keep. The good thing is & saved the pen tube both times. It will be ready for another try tomorrow evening.

Bart, if you have a real nice wood, you may want to discard the rubber part and just make it like a "regular" pen. It's easier, too.

Very nice Bart, your doing great. Give a try without the rubber piece some time, they make a nice pen that way too.

Pen looks good Bart your photos are better than the average beginner as well. Is that the plexi finish again.

Yes Terry it is the plexi finish so far its the only finish I use. I used Brasso to buff it out & looked around for something to shine it more nothin to be seen accept Johnson's past wax. Oh what the heck lets give her a try well no build up but it is shinier.
