I need some ad vise on a door I need to build. Its going on a 200 year old cape in New England so Its going to see weather. The owner wants it built out of 3/4 " plywood on the inside and 1x6 v match pine on the outside. I thought that breadboard type ends shiplapped would work but I'm not sure of the best way to attatch the two layers together to accomadate the seasonal movement of the pine? Use glue? screws with elongated holes? any suggestions would be appreciated.

welcome john! the door you speak of may be trouble for you....plywood with pine laminated to one side is going to be prone to warping no matter what you do. is there a reason to use this type of construction? in an attempt to answer your question about glue, construction adhesive is weather proof and somewhat flexable..02 tod
