I posted this in the Tools forum.
A friend has a bar made of Palm Wood and wants to put a finish on it and fill some gaps around the edges and joints. Thought about using a standard bar finish but he needs a quicker set time so he won't have to close his bar (in a restaurant). He asked me what would he use but I haven't a clue. Tried to look up Palm Wood in Google but haven't found any finishing tips.
I know it is used mainly in knife handles and small items like that.
I'm concerned that it might be oily and there could be issues with finishes bonding to it.
Anyone familiar with "Palm Wood"?
