View Full Version : Mahogany Shallow Bowl

Just finished this one today. It is mahogany and is the largest diameter piece I've done. Measures 11" dia. x 2" tall. Walls are approx. 3/16". Wipe on gel poly and beall buffed. Your critiques are welcome as always. Thanks for looking.

Very nice. I like the burned rim treatment in contrast with the mahogany. It's a very well turned piece.

How did you do the rim? It looks like more than burnt. Carved first?

Thanks guys for your kind words. Frank, the rim is not carved. The marks are made with the burning tool which a friend made for me.
