The other day when someone ask about Palm Wood and I posted some photos one was a nasty work bench for the secretary to disect her flowers, leaves and whatever in our wood ID lab. She understands a bit of English and saw Marks comment about the table that if it was finished decently it could be worth money.
Straight to the shop she went , took off the 1 1/2 inch black Palm slats that I was going to use for the top and replaced them with Red Palm 6 inch x 3/4 inch boards and of course then demanded a finish on it.

I realize this is the wrong forum but as it started here I thought it should end here. The photo on the right side shows one of the 2x2 legs and the grain pattern.

That's a bold grain pattern there. That would be an excellent conversation piece. A palm table.

Mark: She says if you can be the lead machete man in the column searching species and make it for a day and she doesnt have to carry you out you get two hugs. You carry your own food and water.

OOohhh Jim, I just might make this one. One of my son and my main hobbies is mountain climbing/mounteering. I also used to cut a LOT of handline when I was a firefighter. We know what a long days work is. Hmmmmmm.........
