Hi all,

I've searched the archives, but, can't find what I'm looking for.

Does anybody have a complete parts list, that one would need, for making a vacuum pump system? Please include the vacuum pump needed. I would prefer a 110v pump.
Thanks

WC, Check out Joewoodworker.com. He has the full plans for a vacuum veneer system. As far as the pump, check the surplus center. Most of what they have are 220v. but they sell a converter for about $40 that is supposed to let you run it on 110v.

I have an article on my web site about building a vacuum system. In it, there is contact information for Johnny Tolly who can get you set up very nicely with all the pieces and parts you need, including sourcing a pump, if you need help with that. Surplus pumps are the best value, IMHO.

I had this site bookmarked:

Item#4-1540 How do you make these work, since they don't appear to have a corded plug, or On/Off switch on them?

I have that one set up, W. C. It comes with three short wires, and you wire those to your 220.
I put a 220V switch on the wall and turn the pump on and off with that switch. Others have done it differently. The switch cost me about 13 bucks.

As a side note, if anyone neeeds a transformer to step 110v up to 220v for a vacuum pump I have a few. I think they are fused at 6 amps. PM me if you have a use for one.
