I have had this saw for about a year now and have just been using it as it was setup for 110. What are the pros and cons of wiring it up for 220?

Tom, the only difference between running a motor on 120 vs. 240 V is the voltage drop that occurs in the supply wiring. If the present wiring is marginal (e.g, a shared 15 A circuit with a long run of 14 ga wire), wiring for 240 V will be an improvement. If the wiring is adequate (a short, dedicated 20 A circuit), you won't seen much difference.

As long as you have room in the service panel, there isn't really a downside. Just don't expect a miracle.

When I changed over my old '78 1 horse compressor from 110 to 220, I found that the "start-up" was much quicker. Seemed that the motot spun up with less effort.
