Guy, I live close to that area, but don't know the guy selling it. I found the lathe online here: http://www.mytoolstore.com/delta/46-701.html

for $499, so I'm thinkin, yes it is. Can't speak to whether its a good lathe or not tho. Good luck.

I posted this on another forum and one of the replies said that the power is a little underwhelming. I think I'll hang loose and see what else comes up. Thanks

I have a bit of experience on just such a lathe (maybe it was the 14") and after 2 or so years in a woodshop class (where it takes much abuse) it's doing pretty well. I would beware of the speed changer getting stuck, but that's an easy fix. Looks like a pretty good deal, though I don't know a whole lot about this unit or your preferences.

A very disapointing lathe. The effective limits of the lathe are well below the 12" swing. The Jet mini is a MUCH more capable lathe. The reives drive is a constant cause for repair.
