I have been in woodworking, and building and trades for a while now, but have just recently gotten into the more finite skills of furniture making. I just recently completed a walnut and osage computer desk for my lumber supplier. He has a sawmill, and we trade back and forth.

Anyhoo, here are a few pics of the computer desk. I also have a cupboard that I am making for a friend, made out of 20 year old pine, that used to be shelving. I will have pics of the cupboard when it is finished.

Welcome to the creek, very interesting piece, unusual compination of woods. How did the design evolve?

Hello Dan,

The design more or less, was a 'give it a try' kind of thing. The guy who supplies me with lumber, gave me a few pieces of osage and asked me if there was a way to implement them into the desk, in a visible position. I had thought about using them as trim around the desktop, but thought it might be somewhat different to miter cut the pieces for the desktop, and put some of the osage into it the way that I did, instead.

The general design of the desk itself, was a design of my own.
