This bowl is turned from "Live Oak". I'm not sure what live oak is but this was from a tree that was downed during one of the hurricanes that hit Florida last year. I let it sit too long before turning it and it cracked a little but the cracks don't seem to be getting any bigger. The greenish gray on the bark is lichens. I put a little CA on them so they will hopefully stay there. It's 10.5" diameter.

There's some neat stuff happening with that wood, Curt. And I do like the piece. Hows about a side view?

Thanks everyone.

Andy, here's a side view. I have a hard time getting that angle so it's sitting on a small upside down bowl.

Very nice bowl. I did one of those but it cracked just a month later.
